Episode 16: Row Row, Row Evie's Boat

My logistics have become even more complicated than before.

Because I have temporarily moved to live on a boat. Yup, a lovely house boat in the middle of London. It is a temporary arrangement I can not detail more because a) you would be bored to death by my current logistics and b) even if my logistics were not boring to death, my way of explaining would still bore you to death.

The boat is really well equipped (but no internet sadly) and is comfy like a real flat, but I still feel like a super new-age-alternative-funky-treehugging woman when I emerge in the morning and the ducks greet me while I step off the boat in my high heels and posh suit for work (if you ever see a powersuit-clad woman wobbling like mad on her stilettos while attempting to walk on the gang plank to a house boat, that is most probably me). It's fun, it's new, and it's so not me.

There are three things I love about this place:

- in my cabin there is a window on the ceiling, which means I can lie in bed and see the stars at night (when they show) or watch the sun rise in the morning

- the toilets (this can only be illustrated by a picture which I shall post when I return to civilisation)

- the flatmate, or rather boatmate. It's funny how with some people you just click and know you can be friends instantly.

Shyrocket when you say "up here" are you, like, in the sky? (because of the profile picture :).
Charles yeah I know. On the other hand I am soooo jealous you are in Hong Kong already..

There are some very nice house boats in Hong Kong too. Depending on where they are docked, they can be more affordable than apartments. Only downside is that you won't have much of a view and your neighbors are not under and on top of you like in an apartment building, but peeking right into your living-room window... eh porthole.

Sounds sooo cool to live on a boat! Where about? Maybe it can bring you all the way to HK?;)

Hmm maybe Cosima and Hkocoon you are on to something, I was sort of wondering how difficult it is to find a flat in HK these days but actually if I bring my boat with me (it's in the London Docklands) then I avoid the problem entirely! Now I just need to persuade my flatmate..
